The 25th Universiade Winter Games were held in the Turkish city of Erzurum, which sits 1,757m above sea level. The event’s IT infrastructure and solutions were provided exclusively by Innova in one of the largest IT projects ever conducted in eastern Turkey.

The Universiade Winter games are often seen as a staging post for young winter sports athletes hoping to go on to take part in the Olympics. The 2011 event hosted 3,000 athletes from 56 countries. It was the result of an investment of $600 million and required meticulous preparations to ensure that the entire operation ran smoothly, including the provision of high-level IT support. Innova was entrusted with the exclusive rights to configure all aspects of IT infrastructure and services for the event.

The systems provided by Innova included the IT infrastructure, IP-based high definition broadcasting, scoring systems, telephony solutions, security, information management systems, high-speed and high-capacity Internet, digital signage and kiosks, and giant spectator screens.
