As part of its brand convergence strategy to serve customers from a single point, Türk Telekom renovated its nationwide stores with Innova.

In line with its recently implemented brand convergence strategy to serve all customers through a single point, Türk Telekom decided to renovate all its nationwide stores. The ambitious project saw all Türk Telekom stores re-designed from scratch with enhanced in-store technologies supported by dynamic content.

The project aimed at creating an appealing in-store experience to convey its single-brand focus through engaging content, inform all customers about products and ongoing campaigns through digital signage displays; and foster an augmented image of technology leadership.

Having started in specially-selected pilot stores in 2014, the Project gained momentum in 2015. With 4500 displays in 800 stores successfully integrated so far, the ongoing project will be concluded once every single Türk Telekom store undergoes this transformation.

LG Electronics provided the displays and shared the WebOS software library with Innova. Subsequently, Kiosk Innova developed the proprietary DS (digital signage) software, DS Suit, making the central content and broadcast management of new-generation SoC (system on chip) equipped displays possible.

Central content management of 4500 stores

Kiosk Innova provided an end-to-end Digital Signage solution for Türk Telekom's nationwide store renovation campaign. The displays which deploy SoC (system on chip) technology can receive content directly through a network connection. The Project itself stands as Turkey's largest central content management network where SoC (system on chip)-deploying Digital Signage displays are utilized.

An average of 5 regular and one interactive displays were used in each store. Displays were placed either in the stores or in the shop windows, depending on the unique location. Stores located in shopping malls deploy 700-nit displays, whereas outdoor stores deployed 2500-nit high-brightness displays. Eliminating the need for PCs to control the content, the Project provided overall fiscal and operational advantages.

The vast display network runs a visually impactful reel of Türk Telekom's competitive programs and campaigns. The deployment of touchscreen displays promotes an engaging customer experience where customers can compare different products and services in the store on the spot.

Innova handled the provision and nationwide distribution of all hardware equipment used in the Project. Other items in Innova's checklist included the in-store installation of displays, integrating displays into the central content management network, and developing an LG WebOS platform compatible software to benefit from the advantages of SoC (system on chip) displays. Round-the-clock monitoring of all system units, detection of breakdowns/interruptions, and ensuing remote or on-the-spot service support will also be provided by Innova.

Türk Telekom stores stand out from the crowd

With the conclusion of the Project, Türk Telekom stores have acquired a brand new look, transforming into modern and sleek centers of dynamic, attractive content. Türk Telekom pursues higher customer traffic via high-brightness shop window displays and an enhanced customer experience through the communication of campaign and product information on a real-time and display-based basis. The replacement of static print media with digital displays makes advanced marketing communication more eye-catching, immersive, and readily updateable.

Innova teams on the field

Innova's Kiosk Software Development, DS Content Management, DS Unit Monitoring and Management, Field Installation and Support, and Project Management teams took part in the Project, totaling an impressive number of 30 members employed from start to finish. The Central Content Management Software compatible with PC-free display technology was developed by Innova. The trouble-free application of the software to this rapidly growing system, including content broadcast, monitoring, and reporting features, was actualized following a meticulously carried out implementation process.

Türk Telekom's new SoC (system on chip)-technology digital signage network oversees the content management of 4500 displays through a single central location.

With the actualization of the Project that marks the establishment of Turkey's largest centrally-managed and SoC (system on chip) based DS network, Türk Telekom now has a powerful tool to help it rise above the growing competition.
