Principles of the value stream map
You must unbiasedly assess the business processes, goods, and systems of your organization before you can begin creating a value stream map. Consult with the executive team, department heads, and other important stakeholders to learn what may be changed. You'll need to use the procedure, item, or system firsthand and ask other staff members to walk you through their portion of it. A good VSM incorporates everyone with experience, knowledge, and skill regarding the product or system being mapped to ensure that no details are missed, and that everyone is working with the same information.

Everybody with experience, knowledge, and skill regarding the system or product being mapped should be included in a successful VSM to ensure that no details are missed and that everyone is using the same data.
You'll then generate two unique VSM flow charts, one for the current state and one for the future state. To determine how the process currently performs in the business, your current state VSM will be used. You will outline important needs, present major findings, and illustrate concerns here. On the other hand, the future state VSM focuses on how your process will appear after your business has made the required adjustments.
As your team develops the maps, you might decide to omit or combine processes to make the final flow chart simpler to understand. Once created, the value stream map can be incorporated into an agile development system like Kanban. With Kanban boards, you may build a visual structure that allows everyone to track the progress between each step, physically or digitally.
Whenever the organization updates a process or makes a process improvement, the value stream map will need to be updated to reflect the changes. Typically, this is something that can be done monthly, as needed. Once the changes are implemented, it's important to see if they introduce any issues elsewhere in the process and adjust accordingly.
