SunExpress presents it's self-service check-in kiosks at Sabiha Gökçen Airport
14 Ara 2009
Founded by equal partnership of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, SunExpress has begun using kiosks for quick check-in facilities for SunExpress’ passengers at Istanbul and Antalya airports. The kiosks work with self-service logic, allowing SunExpress passengers to complete check-in procedures themselves and easily print their boarding cards without waiting in line at a conventional check-in counter.
At the kiosks specially produced for SunExpress, the check-in procedures can be processed in many different ways. When passengers place the credit cards they used in buying their plane ticket on the kiosk’s credit card reader, reservation information appears on the display and after the authorization; they get their boarding cards printed within seconds. It is also possible to apply the same procedure by having the barcode on the electronic ticket read by the barcode scanner of the kiosk device. Besides all these, with the virtual keyboard that comes up on the touch screen, passengers can complete the check-in procedure by manually entering their name, surname or reservation number. If the passenger has completed the check-in procedure on the internet before arriving at the airport, he/she also has the opportunity to change seats through the kiosks.
SunExpress kiosks, which have been designed and produced at Innova’s production centre, have two different screens. While the users complete check-in procedures on the 17 inch touch screen, videos featuring SunExpress announcements play throughout the day on the 19 inch LCD screen that is located on the upper section. Boarding cards presented to passengers at the end of the check-in procedure are printed by the thermal printers within the kiosk. In addition, there is also a telephone module on the kiosk for the passengers to contact the call centre free of charge in case they require assistance.
