Cossmos is a standalone network discovery management platform custom-engineered for telecom service providers. The platform provides advanced network discovery features without any supportive intermediary products.

Cossmos utilizes adapters to discover network inventory via various network devices with different access types. The platform sends the network inventory information enriched with customer and port information to the Inventory Management System.

Cossmos enables the definition of network inventory models for technologies and supports the creation of topologies between resources. It has user-friendly topological and graphical interfaces facilitating monitoring, comparing, and reporting resources.

Auto Discovery & Data Collection

Cossmos's auto-discovery and data collection feature work based on the configurable scheduled job control mechanism. It allows users to define various discovery, collection, audit, reconciliation, and topology jobs; assign them with their particular scheduling periods, managed elements groups, and domains. Cossmos utilizes the microservice architecture to distribute jobs to virtual servers. The dynamic adapter management algorithm increases the efficiency of discovery and data collection processes. Using the option to link them, once a job is complete, the next one starts without triggering it manually.

Cossmos utilizes the job scheduling mechanism of Nomad workload manager to distribute jobs to virtual servers. The dynamic adapter management algorithm makes it possible to discover network elements and collect high volumes of data quickly. 

o   Data Enrichment

Cossmos collects customer data from other OSS/BSS for information reconciliation. 

o   Long Term Storage Based on Data Characteristics

Cossmos stores differences between data collections in short and long terms, supporting archive mechanisms.

o   Adapter Capabilities

Cossmos supports SNMP, HTTP, FTP, JDBC, CORBA, TL1, REST, and SOAP protocols. The platform has predefined network adapters for prominent vendors such as Huawei, Alcatel, and Ericsson, while offering custom adapter development capability.

Audit & Reconciliation

The Audit & Reconciliation process of Cossmos starts with creating and assigning mapping profiles, discovering and snapshotting the network. Then scheduled audit runs to report the results. Auto reconciliation is triggered by the audit, evaluating the discrepancies between data.

 Topology

Capable of detecting physical and service topologies, Cossmos visualizes the network topology it discovers. It establishes links between edges through network information found via topology adapters and stores the Oracle Graph database linkages. The platform uses this data to visualize the entire network in different formats and presents it through its user interface.

Reporting

Cossmos is equipped with rich reporting functions. Its predefined report templates streamline the process while allowing users to customize or create brand new ones on the platform's interface. Reports can be obtained instantly or scheduled with email and FTP. Users can create datasets with SQL, define reports, filter data, decide which columns to report, choose various graph types for visualization, and schedule them to be sent.
