With the increasing speed of the internet, watching videos on-line has become a regular habit for many users. However, the increasing interest in on-line video content has resulted in two current problems: the copyright of the available content and the filtering of the content in the video sharing sites according to age groups. TTNET VIDEO portal addresses these issues by offering the highest quality and richest content quickly and smoothly to its users. Thanks to this service, TTNET users can watch high quality and copyrights paid video productions on-line conveniently. Along with the TTNET MUZÝK and TTNET GAME portals offered by TTNET, this service creating added value for 5 million TTNET subscribers has been prepared with the rigorous know-how accumulated by INNOVA and the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 infrastructure.

Services creating a difference
As the largest internet service provider in Turkey, TTNET places great emphasis on value added services in order to increase customer satisfaction. TTNET MUZIK portal was the first of these services starting at the beginning of 2008. TTNET allowed its subscribers to download and listen to high quality and copyrights paid music with the TTNET MUZIK portal developed by INNOVA. After introducing TTNET MUZIK, TTNET initiated plans for TTNET VIDEO to provide uninterrupted, fast and high quality popular videos to TTNET customers. By combining TTNET VIDEO, TTNET MUZIK and TTNET GAME portals, the TTNET entertainment ecosystem would be completed.

In announcing the targets and purpose of the VIDEO portal, TTNET Product Development Manager Hakan Aydýn said: “People were sharing videos illegally through popular sites. This created legal problems and made it hard for the users to access high quality content. At TTNET we have established TTNET VIDEO to provide videos with a wide variety of content from news to entertainment, from lifestyle to automobiles and to offer a high quality service to our customers in this area.”

SharePoint Portal Platform
Following meetings between INNOVA and TTNET, it was decided that instead of developing the portal from scratch, the Microsoft SharePoint portal infrastructure, which has proven successful with its applications worldwide, should be used. Hakan Aydýn explains the reasons for preferring the SharePoint infrastructure: “At TTNET we shape our services according to the demands of our customers and we also try to create a profile as a rapidly developing and customer oriented internet service provider. Our customers requested that this portal goes live as soon as possible and also wanted it to be user friendly. In addition, they wanted exclusive videos on this platform instead of the video content they could find anywhere else. For all these reasons, while preparing TTNET VIDEO we chose the Microsoft SharePoint Portal infrastructure with the guidance of INNOVA, which enabled us to quickly realize the project. Later, the feedback we received from our customers proved that we were right in our approach and ethos.”

Thanks to the SharePoint infrastructure, the TTNET VIDEO project entered service in summer 2008. To clearly differentiate itself from the other video sharing websites, TTNET has placed high quality, exclusively recorded videos on its portal and has ensured continuous high quality content. Offering high quality content with high speed has produced high levels of customer satisfaction.

After opening the doors of the digital entertainment world to its users, TTNET VIDEO, TTNET MUZIK and TTNET GAME portals have rapidly become an indispensable portal for TTNET users with their distinguishing content quality. As a result of this fine product development, these three portals were rewarded with “The Most Successful Project Award” by Microsoft in 2008.
